The play’s concept calls for the entirety of the 1935 adventure film The 39 Steps to be performed nearly verbatim onstage, but with a cast of four. One actor plays the hero, Richard Hannay, an actress plays the three women with whom he has romantic entanglements, and two other actors play every other character in the show: heroes, villains, men, women, children and even the occasional inanimate object. In addition to the mountain bike ‘happenings’, event attendees will have 3 awesome days of opportunity to soak up mountain bike culture amongst downtown Prescott’s fine establishments including a large assortment of locally owned and operated bars, breweries, coffee shops, restaurants, art galleries, flowing streams, elm tree canopies and a sprawling courthouse lawn.
Fundraising activities associated with the Whiskey Off-Road are to benefit the Yavapai County Food Bank, Prescott Alternative Transportation, Prevent Child Abuse Arizona and Prescott Mountain Bike Alliance.
