Megan Smith, Publisher and Community Storyteller
Megan Smith is a visionary leader and community advocate who currently serves as Publisher of the The Daily Courier. Stepping into the role in January, Megan brings a dynamic combination of creativity, strategic thinking, and analytical strength—qualities that have defined her steady rise within the organization and continue to shape her leadership today.

Megan’s journey to Prescott began in 2012, when she and her then-fiancé rode a Harley from Oregon with the intention of staying just a couple of summers. What started as a temporary stop quickly became home. With a background at the Oregon State University newspaper, she took an entry-level role in new business development at the Courier. It was a starting point that allowed her to build meaningful connections while helping local businesses grow—something she quickly discovered she had a natural talent for.

From there, Megan worked her way up through the company, earning promotions through dedication, performance, and leadership. By 2015, she became Advertising Coordinator, later advancing into multiple management roles before stepping into the position of Advertising Director in 2018. Her journey reflects both her work ethic and her belief in growth through experience, learning, and opportunity.

Beyond her professional achievements, Megan’s life is deeply rooted in family. As a mother of four, she credits her children as her greatest accomplishment and the foundation of who she is today. Motherhood has shaped her perspective, strengthening her leadership and grounding her approach to both life and business.

Megan leads with purpose, balancing ambition with gratitude, and continues to make a lasting impact on her community through both her work and her example.
