Marketing & PR professional enjoys forging friendships and partnerships through PDP

In her role as Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations for Ponderosa Hotel Management Services, LLC (PHMS), Margo Christensen works on marketing, advertising, public relations, and media. Her goal: to build and foster positive relationships.

Networking and community involvement, then, are priorities, and she’s able to pursue those in part through her participation in the Prescott Downtown Partnership (PDP).

“Being a part of PDP has forged many friendships, business relationships, and partnerships and drawing strength from each other in the toughest of times,” Margo said. “I so much enjoy walking around downtown, seeing people I know and have worked with in various capacities over the years and hopefully for many years to come.”

PHMS has offices in the heart of historic downtown Prescott. The group operates and manages five hotel franchises in Arizona including the Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Prescott.  PHMS also co-owns two lots in downtown Prescott, one occupied by Colt Grill and the other adjacent to the Prescott Chamber of Commerce. PHMS owns a historic home on Cortez Steet which is occupied by the seven-member PHMS executive team.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott has been a member of the Prescott Downtown Partnership since the hotel opened in 1999. Margo was invited to join the PDP Board of Directors in 2007 and served on the board until 2014. She also has served on the board of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce from 2013 to 2019 (she was Board Chair in 2018), and again from 2022 to the present. Additionally, she has served on the City of Prescott Tourism Advisory Committee as Board Chair from 2017 to present. Margo’s other community involvement includes the Granite Creek Corridor Committee and the Airport Passenger Terminal Arts Commission.

Margo and her husband, Brad, have lived in Williamson Valley for 20 years on quiet acreage overlooking Granite Mountain. Brad enjoys hunting, as well as training German Shorthaired Pointers and Margo enjoys tending to her raised vegetable beds and greenhouse. Their daughters, Savannah, 27, and Sierra, 20, live in Tempe and California, respectively. They both grew up in Prescott and spent a large part of their lifetime attending events downtown, shopping, frequenting the local restaurants, or just sitting on a bench on the Courthouse Plaza having ice cream.  They often comment on how they appreciated that experience growing up.
