The musical world is opening once more, and there are many exciting events to anticipate. The Camerata Chamber Singers are hosting several performances you won’t want to miss.

This past November, they hosted “In Peace and Joy,” featuring singers and instrumentalists and highlighting the group’s wonderful talents. A cappella performances and instrumental accompaniments created sounds intended to invoke a sense of inner peace and outward joy. After being postponed in April of 2020, the concert was well worth the long wait.

Upcoming performances by the Camerata Chamber Singers are curated with the same heartfelt design.

On Saturday, April 2, 2022, the choir will perform “Remembering” in the beautiful sanctuary of the American Lutheran Church in Prescott. The members of the choir are incredibly excited about this performance as it will be directed by English composer and organist Malcolm Archer, who composed the centerpiece of this concert, “Requiem.” The performance will also feature special guests, the Yavapai Youth Choirs under the direction of Arlene Hardy. The chamber singers will combine with the youth choirs on a moving performance of “Inscription of Hope” by Z.Randall Stroope, which will conclude the program.

Malcolm Archer will present a pipe organ concert the following day, April 3, at American Lutheran Church, as well.

The 20 members of the Camerata Chamber Singers perform two major concerts each year. The next performance will be Sunday, November 6, 2022 at St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley. Entitled “Music of the Masters,” this performance will offer pieces from composers such as Brahms and Mendelssohn.

The Camerata Chamber Singers are some of the most active and experienced choral singers in our area. Seven of the members have been or presently are choral directors in their musical careers, adding another level of ability to the group. With all that combined talent on display, you won’t want to miss the upcoming performances.
