Music, games, food trucks and a dunk tank bring the community together October 18 in downtown Prescott
A 25th birthday calls for a party, and the Coalition for Compassion & Justice (CCJ) is inviting the whole community.
CCJ’s Totally Rad 25th Birthday Block Party takes place Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Fairweather Social Club, 224 N. Cortez St. in Prescott. The family-friendly, pet-friendly afternoon will feature music, food trucks, games, a cornhole tournament, a photo booth and a dunk tank.
The celebration marks 25 years of CCJ’s work in housing, advocacy and second chances. It is also a chance for neighbors to spend time together and support the organization’s continuing efforts to expand affordable housing and services in the community.
A birthday party for the whole community
CCJ has planned an afternoon with plenty of ways to join in. Guests can play games, enter the cornhole tournament, stop for a photo and enjoy food and music. Well-behaved pets are welcome, too, so families can bring the whole crew.
Whether someone has supported CCJ for years or is just learning about its work, the block party offers an easy way to meet people connected to the organization and take part in its anniversary. Admission is $5, and children under 5 get in free.
The birthday theme is fun, but the reason for gathering reaches beyond the afternoon. CCJ is celebrating a quarter-century of neighbors helping neighbors while looking ahead to the need for affordable housing and support services in the Prescott area.
Put your boss in the dunk tank
Local businesses have a special way to take part: the Business Dunk Tank Sponsorship. For $150, a business can choose a willing boss, coworker, manager, CEO, local celebrity or other volunteer to sit above the tank. The sponsorship includes 10 chances to dunk them.
A little friendly rivalry could make the dunk tank one of the liveliest spots at the party. Teams can nominate a colleague, challenge another business and cheer each other on, all while supporting CCJ’s work.
The sponsorship gives businesses a chance to celebrate alongside the community they serve. It also puts a playful spin on a familiar Prescott tradition: showing up for neighbors when it matters.
