Dr. Emily Roth Brings a New Veterinary Approach to Prescott

By Tara Fort

For Dr. Emily Roth, caring for animals goes beyond treating symptoms—it’s about supporting an animal’s health, comfort, and quality of life through a thoughtful, whole-body approach. As the sole practitioner of a woman-owned and -founded veterinary practice in the Prescott area, she is redefining what personalized pet care looks like.

With an impressive background that includes a veterinary degree, as well as certifications in both veterinary acupuncture and spinal manipulation for large and small animals, Dr. Roth brings an advanced, holistic approach to the field. After moving to the area in 2019, Dr. Roth officially launched her mobile private practice in late 2023. This spring, she opened her quiet, private space where she can offer acupuncture, spinal adjustments, laser therapy, non-urgent blood work, select vaccines and end-of-life care for dogs and cats. She continues to offer mobile visits for small animals and horses. Dr. Roth said, “What really sets me apart is that I am able to spend more time with my patients and their owners, including the difficult time during the end-of-life process.”

Dr. Roth offers private euthanasia within a dedicated pet aftercare facility—something not available anywhere else in the Quad Cities. Her office, located on the same property as Serene Waters Pet Cremation, provides a space for families who are not seeking in-home care but still want a compassionate, dignified experience. During what is often an emotional moment in a family’s life, Dr. Roth strives to provide peace and support every step of the way. It should be noted that her practice does not provide urgent/emergency care, surgery or imaging; however, she does work closely with local clinics and encourages all clients to keep a relationship with a full-service veterinarian.

When she’s not working, Dr. Roth enjoys participating in the Southwest’s outdoor lifestyle through rock climbing, trail running, hiking, and backpacking. She also travels internationally for both veterinary service work and outdoor recreation. An adventure-seeker, Dr. Roth’s dedication to science began long before veterinary school. Her curiosity and creativity have always been part of her story, even as a young student. In middle school, she participated in a science project exploring how composting roadkill could benefit the environment. The project went on to win a national competition and was featured in Kids Inventing! A Handbook for Young Inventors by Susan Casey.

For those considering a deeper and more comprehensive approach to their pet’s health, there are now even more options through the offerings of Healing Trails. Because of Dr. Roth’s innovative services, deep compassion and dedication to the well-being of pets and their families, a new standard of holistic veterinary care is available in Prescott—one where animals are treated not just as patients, but as the complex beings they truly are.
