In 2025, Charlene Schosser and Rebecca Horvath began a journey to create a podcast that would inspire others. Empowered: Life Lessons of Everyday Women (ELLEW) is a podcast where women from a variety of professions share their insights and perspectives on both work and home life.
What started out as a simple discussion at a book club between Charlene and Rebecca took them on a journey they never imagined. A passion project and a leap of faith soon turned into conversations with amazing women with incredible stories to share.
“These are conversations with a variety of women who have navigated challenges, providing nuggets of wisdom that they have gained through their experiences”, says Rebecca. “There were so many times in my career and home life that I wished I could hear how others approached issues. This podcast gives insight into how others have addressed and address these situations.”
“We know everyone is so busy these days, we designed the podcast to be 20-30 minutes, so one episode could fit into someone’s commute time”, shares Charlene. ELLEW can provide inspiration on your drive to work as you start your day, or a perspective on how to address a challenge you may be facing at home or in life.
Empowered: Life Lessons of Everyday Women launched their first two episodes in June of 2025 and drops a new episode every two weeks. With a full year of episodes in production, Rebecca and Charlene are already interviewing women for Season 2.
Rebecca shared her perspective, “This has truly been a wild ride for us. When we started this new adventure, we didn’t know how to produce a podcast or what work was entailed. Thankfully, Charlene is tech-savvy and was able to research the tools required to be successful and get our podcast online.
Charlene and Rebecca have their guests join them in a conversational session, so the podcast makes you feel like they are talking to a friend. Each and every guest has a unique story and perspective, which provides their audience with fresh ideas, including prevailing themes such as networking, mentoring, and having a career that brings you joy. These broad topics have really resonated with their listeners.
