Owners of Pralines of Prescott Believe that When We Come Together, We Thrive Together

Prescott Woman Magazine interviewed Diane Baab, owner of Pralines of Prescott. We learned about the Baab family’s love of their new hometown—Everybody’s Hometown—as well as the special treats they create … and their mission to support local nonprofits.

PWM: How long have you been a member of the Prescott Downtown Partnership?
Diane: We have been PDP members since October of 2019.

PWM: Tell me a little bit about what brought you to Prescott and what you do at the shop.
Diane: In 2017 we uprooted our family, moved to Prescott, and bought Pralines of Prescott. It was the best decision we ever made! We have grown the business immensely over the past four and-a-half years and now have a location right on the downtown square. As owners, we are responsible for making decadent chocolate treats, whipping up delicious drinks, and engaging in and around our community.

PWM: What about the PDP organization is different from others in the area, and what do you personally enjoy best about being in the PDP group?
Diane: The PDP group specifically focuses on our historic downtown; maintaining our Prescott culture and vibrancy is paramount. We appreciate the camaraderie of other business owners who care deeply about “Everybody’s Hometown” as much as we do.

PWM: Are you on the board, or on a committee with PDP?
Diane: We are not currently on the board or any committees…yet!

PWM: Do you have family here, kids, or other activities?
Diane:
We have twin boys who actively participate at the shop. After moving to Prescott, our extended family also fell in love with the Prescott community. My parents relocated here as well as my niece and her family.

PWM: How are you involved in the community?
Diane: We believe in the power of community. When we come together, we thrive together. As we are able to bring more employees onboard, post slow-down, we are getting back into participating in events throughout the community.   We also assist with as many fundraisers as possible; supporting the non-profits in our community is a large goal of ours.

PWM: Do you work downtown and what do you like best about that?
Diane: We do work downtown, right on the square. Anytime we go out of town, we love the feeling we get when we come back into town. It feels like we are coming home each time.  Our downtown area feels the same. It is a little piece of perfect.

PWM: What else do you want to add that people might not know about you, or what you do/offer?
Diane: Our shop specializes in handmade chocolate goodies including Victoria Toffee, truffles, buttercreams, rodeos, clusters, fudge, sugar-free, and more!  We also offer gelato, sorbet, fresh-baked goods, a full espresso bar, large order discounts, shipping, local delivery, and a relaxing space to spend time with family and friends.
