Prescott entrepreneur and yoga instructor has found purpose, growth, and lifelong friendships within this community

Prescott Woman Magazine chatted with Candace Lea aka Pickle Lea, with Pickles Lea Yoga, to find out what makes her enjoy Prescott and everything it offers.

PWM: How long have you lived in Prescott, and why did you choose this lovely place as your home?

Candace: I’ve lived in Prescott for 10 years. I moved here from the Midwest. I was drawn to Prescott because of the beautiful mountains, fantastic outdoor activities, and the community.

PWM: What advice would you give young women new to the city or those considering moving here?

Candace: My advice would be to get involved!  We have so many ways to give back to the community and in turn you will make friends.

PWM: What is your occupation, and are there any local events or organizations that have significantly impacted your professional development?

Candace: In 2024, I retired after 30+ years serving others. Now I pour my heart into Pickles Lea Yoga and the Prescott Yoga Festival—this July, our fourth festival raised $4,000!

PWM: Do you have any kids, significant others, fur babies, or close family members living in the area?

Candace: I’ve been married to my sweetheart Tim since February 2, 2022 (2.22.22). After his retirement this December, we’ll travel in our RV. I also cherish adventures with my nieces Mia, four, and Emerie, 10.

PWM: What do you love most about living and working in this city, and how has it influenced your journey?

Candace: Prescott’s generosity inspires me. Pickles Lea Yoga began with offering free yoga, but now it also supports other nonprofits. It’s turned into a beautiful cycle of giving and receiving within our community.

PWM: How has the local culture or environment influenced your personal or professional growth?

Candace: Through the Prescott Chamber and local nonprofits, I’ve found purpose, growth, and lifelong friendships I truly cherish.

PWM: How do you feel Prescott enriches the work you do and your hobbies?

Candace: Our Prescott yoga community is thriving, but beyond yoga, this town is full of healers nurturing wellness on every level.

PWM: Is there anything new or exciting you’re working in for the upcoming year?

Candace: The Prescott Yoga Festival is always a work in progress! Save the date: July 24 and 25, 2026 at the Elks Theatre and Performing Arts Center.

PWM: Are you involved in the community? If so, what initiatives or projects are you currently involved in that aim to uplift our community?

Candace: Sharing yoga’s healing spirit is my passion. I’ve created uplifting flash mobs to “I Am Woman,” and I hope to keep empowering women through movement, music, and community connection!

PWM: If you had the chance to contribute to something in Prescott, what would it be and why?

Candace: I am passionate about helping other nonprofits. I would love to sit on the board of another local nonprofit. I am a giver; that’s just who I am.
