Local salon owner values success, joy, and strength for everyone … and a true feeling of support and inspiration for clients
Prescott Woman Magazine chatted with Ashley Peters, with Love & Co. the Salon, to find out what makes her enjoy being a part of the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce and how it benefits her business.
PWM: How long have you been a member of the Prescott Valley Chamber, and what do you enjoy most about being part of this organization?
Ashley: For 10 months. I’ve loved connecting with businesses, building relationships, and supporting community growth through Prescott Valley Chamber.
PWM: In your experience, how does the PV Chamber differ from other local groups?
Ashley: The Prescott Valley Chamber stands out by fostering genuine connections, growth, and collaboration—going beyond networking to build lasting relationships and provide support for both new and established businesses.
PWM: Can you share what led you to the Prescott Valley area and your current position in your employment?
Ashley: I chose to open Love & Co. the Salon in Prescott Valley because of the area’s exciting growth and potential. I wanted to create a welcoming salon for our community and give local stylists a place to grow.
PWM: Do you have any kids, significant others, fur babies, or family members in the area?
Ashley: I’m grateful for my husband, two daughters, our Australian Shepherds, and the support of my parents and grandparents—all of whom make life joyful and fulfilling.
PWM: Are you involved in the community? If so, what initiatives or projects are you currently involved in that aim to uplift our community?
Ashley: I stay actively involved in Prescott Valley—hosting classes to support stylists, collaborating with local businesses, and joining community events. With Love & Co., I strive to uplift people while strengthening our town.
PWM: How do you balance your role in the Chamber with other professional and personal commitments?
Ashley: Chamber membership lets me support local businesses, connect with neighbors, and reflect the same community values I bring to my salon and family.
PWM: What inspired you to start your business, and how has that inspiration evolved?
Ashley: My inspiration began 13 years ago in a salon where support and care were the foundation. I wanted to recreate that environment—built on collaboration, growth, and community—and it’s evolved into a mission of providing clients and stylists a welcoming, supportive, and enriching salon experience.
PWM: What do you wish you knew when you started your business that could have made your journey easier?
Ashley: I wish I’d known how much patience the salon build-out required—but every challenge became part of the journey.
PWM: Is there a common misconception about women in business that you would like to address?
Ashley: A common misconception is women in business must compete. I believe in collaboration—lifting each other up creates more success, joy, and strength for everyone.
PWM: Is there anything else you’d like to share that people might not know about you or your work?
Ashley: I value education, growth, and sisterhood—creating opportunities for stylists to thrive while ensuring every client leaves not only with beautiful hair, but also feeling supported, inspired, and genuinely valued through every interaction.
