Today, our storytelling lives across multiple platforms. Through the She Spark Podcast, we amplify real conversations around leadership, purpose, growth, and connection. Baked with Love
Since she was a child, baking has been a love language for Kelly Gallegos. Now, through her business, Mac Daddy Macarons, she bakes love into every single cookie she makes.
French macarons, meringue-based sandwich cookies made with almond flour, egg whites, confectioners’ sugar, and fillings, are “having a moment right now,” Kelly said, in large part because they’re nice to look at. Kelly initially wanted to learn to make them even though she’d never tasted one, because “they’re just beautiful.”
The Nurses of Prescott Unified School District: Teachers, Mentors and Skilled Healthcare Professionals All Rolled into One
As healthcare professionals, the nurses at Prescott Unified School District (PUSD) have a greater role than what many of us experienced growing up and visiting the nurse’s office hoping for a day pass to go home. Today, school nurses strive to address the physical, mental, emotional and social health needs of each student. From Monica Pardo in her first year as nurse at Lincoln School, to Carolyn Ernst in her 14th year with Prescott High School, school nurses are at the ready for whatever comes their way—from simple sore throats to medical emergencies.

Yavapai Exceptional Industries (YEI!) is truly an exceptional organization. Founded in 1974, this nonprofit agency provides job training, employment, volunteer placements, and support services to local adults with disabilities.

‘A Major Step Forward’
Neurosurgeon Sam Safavi-Abbasi, MD is now performing advanced brain and spine surgeries as well as the latest minimally invasive procedures in the Quad Cities, thanks to an affiliation between Dignity Health, Yavapai Regional Medical Group (YRMG) and Barrow Brain and Spine.
“This is a major step forward for neurosurgical services in our community and throughout northern Arizona,” said Ken Boush, Director, Marketing and Communications at Dignity Health, Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC). “Dr. Safavi-Abbasi’s expertise as a neurosurgeon complements the care provided by the team at YRMG, Neurosurgical Medicine and Physiatry.”
