Make the ’Tis Annex Art Education Building one of your stops during this free, three-day celebration of local artists
One of the best things about Prescott’s art community is getting the chance to see not only the finished work, but also the people, spaces and creative processes behind it.
The Prescott Area Artist Studio Tour returns October 2, 3 and 4, 2026, offering three days to explore the creative side of the Prescott Quad-City area. Now in its 19th year, the free event invites the public into studios and art centers to meet artists, watch demonstrations, learn about different techniques and, of course, discover some incredible locally created art.
This year’s tour features 74 juried artists in 53 private studios, along with additional artists exhibiting at three local art centers. Visitors can build their own route and spend the weekend exploring everything from painting and photography to jewelry, mixed media and more. Many participating artists will demonstrate their techniques throughout the weekend, giving visitors a chance to see how a piece evolves from an idea into a finished work.
Make a Stop at the ’Tis Annex
While you’re planning your Studio Tour route, be sure to include Tour Studio 3, the ’Tis Annex Art Education Building, located at 235 N. Marina Street in Prescott.
An extension of the ’Tis Art Center and Gallery on Cortez Street, the Annex is dedicated to art education and creative exploration. Throughout the year, it serves as home to the tuition-free STEPS Art Education Program for children ages five and older, while also providing classroom space for workshops and art classes for people of all ages.
During Studio Tour weekend, the Annex takes on an entirely different personality. The building becomes both a gallery and a working creative space where visitors can meet artists, watch demonstrations, hear the stories behind their work and purchase art directly from the people who created it.
Visitors to the Annex can explore work in digital art, jewelry, mixed media, acrylic painting and photography, with demonstrations planned in the featured mediums. Participating artists listed for the Annex include Beverly Chesterby, Debra Sutherland Core, Kuki Hargrave, Valerie Isley and Patricia Watkins.
The Annex will be open during Studio Tour hours Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is wheelchair accessible.
More Than an Art Show
What makes the Studio Tour special is the connection it creates between artists and the community. Instead of simply seeing a finished piece hanging on a wall, visitors can ask questions, learn about materials and techniques and hear directly from artists about what inspires their work.
The Tour also gives back. Many participating artists donate artwork for the annual raffle, with proceeds supporting children’s art programs throughout the Quad-City area and helping fund future Studio Tours. In 2025, the Tour donated $1,000 each to four local youth art programs, including the ’Tis STEPS Art Program for Children.
Whether you spend the entire weekend exploring studios or simply choose a few stops, the Prescott Studio Tour is an opportunity to experience just how much creativity exists throughout our community.
And when you map out your route, make sure there’s a stop at the ’Tis Annex. You might arrive looking for art and leave with a new appreciation for the people who create it.
