Legendary Total Wellness & Longevity Spa offers a variety of holistic therapies for optimal health

In December 2023, Tim McGhee finally listened to his wife. The changes he made as a result transformed his life. Now, he’s using what he learned to transform the health and lives of others through Legendary Total Wellness & Longevity Spa in Prescott Valley.

After serving for 12 years in the U.S. Airforce, plus five years in the reserves, Tim worked as a Registered Nurse at the Veterans Administration. He earned several advanced degrees and became a Nurse Practitioner, working in the VA’s emergency department and eventually opening his own primary care practice.

By October 2022, he weighed 297 pounds and relied on oxygen more than half the time thanks to COVID-related bi-lateral pneumonia eight months before. He also had several diseases related to his time in the military.

“I realized if I didn’t do something myself, change my lifestyle,” he said, “I’d end up dying before I retired.”

At the time, he believed that a simple pill could fix everything. So, when weight loss injections first became available, he decided to give them a try. The results were immediate and encouraging—he began shedding weight quickly, marking the beginning of what he hoped would be a full health recovery. But even after a year, despite the progress, he still relied on supplemental oxygen in the evenings and felt far from his ultimate health goals.

“I finally listened to my wife,” he admitted. His wife, Sarah Voss, a registered nurse with a strong belief in alternative medicine, had been gently urging him to explore other options—herbal therapies, holistic treatments, and complementary approaches that focused on healing the whole person, not just the symptoms.

Encouraged by Sarah’s persistence and his own growing curiosity, he agreed to explore a more holistic path. Together, they began incorporating natural supplements, dietary changes, and lifestyle adjustments rooted in integrative medicine. It wasn’t an overnight transformation, but over time, he started noticing real, lasting changes: improved energy, reduced inflammation, and most importantly, a steady move away from dependency on oxygen.

“It was the first time I felt like I was actually healing, not just treating symptoms,” he said. The shift from a quick-fix mindset to a more comprehensive, patient-centered approach became a turning point in his journey back to health. “If you would have seen me in the ER and told me to try a naturopath or holistic doctor,” he said, “I would have told you flat out to get a real doctor or practitioner. Now I see the light of what’s out there that can make a world of difference, and I don’t have to rely on a pill for a quick fix.”

Not only has Tim lost 80 pounds, but he also has the energy of a 24-year-old. Through Legendary Total Wellness & Longevity Spa, which he opened in April 2024, he shares the benefits with others.

Better health starts with simple nutrition changes and exercise—even just walking, he said. Adding on alternative therapies such as red light, pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF), contrast therapy, bio charger therapy, salt therapy, vibroacoustic sound therapy, peptides, and vitamin infusions, to name a few, has helped Tim and his clients lose weight and revamp their overall physical well-being.

“My biggest thing is just to help people live a healthier lifestyle,” he said. “We’re here to help people help themselves. We want to put healthcare back into your hands.”

He sees the difference in his clients, and they notice it, too. “That’s why I have the same people coming back. They feel it. They leave for a month and then they say, ‘Oh, man, I’ve got to come back.’”

Legendary currently serves about 400 clients.

One of them, Sharon York, has been coming to Legendary Total Wellness for about six months. A traumatic brain injury in October 2021 left her—a once-active hiker, runner, and fisherman—with trouble with balance, walking, and movement.

“After about four or five weeks of various therapies, I felt motivated and confident enough to ditch my walker in the trunk of my car and walk into the spa on my own. Granted, I had been going to the gym and physical therapy, but I believe the therapies supported my cellular regeneration resulting in healing, and improved my metabolism and energy.”

“I wish I would have known about this stuff sooner,” she said. “I’m anxious to keep doing it and see improvements. The [Legendary] staff is truly amazing. I love this place and think it is one of Prescott Valley’s gems for health and wellness.”

Sharon introduced professional wheelchair tennis player Andrew Bogdanov to Legendary Total Wellness & Longevity Spa about two months ago (Sharon works out at New Horizons, the fitness center Andrew runs for people with disabilities).

Originally, he tried salt room therapy to clear up his congestion. But the more he learned about the therapies Legendary offers, the more intrigued he became. As a pro tennis player who uses a wheelchair, Andrew uses his upper body a lot. A shoulder injury has plagued him for a while, and he’s found Legendary’s cold plunge helps reduce inflammation and pain. He also uses red light therapy (to help with recovery) and the PEMF bed.

“As an athlete, with injuries and things going on, [Legendary] is a huge part of my recovery and contributes to my overall performance on the court as well,” Andrew said, adding that some of the therapies help with mental focus and clarity, too.

Tim agreed to sponsor Andrew, and Andrew said he goes to Legendary almost every day. “I’m a super big fan of what they’re doing over there. Having natural, holistic approaches is amazing. That would be my recommendation for people dealing with injuries or pain: take that route first.”

Another client, Debra Bradford, has come to Legendary since it opened. She’d previously done halo/salt therapy to help with her allergies, and ended up trying—and loving—all the different treatments. She used her initial package, which was designed to last a month, in about a week and a half.

NanoVi treatment, which promotes cellular repair and regeneration and enhances sports performance, made a significant difference in Debra’s energy and performance on the treadmill. And when she injured her knee, red light therapy helped reduce the swelling.

“The problem with mainstream medicine is that it’s sickness alleviation,” she said. “This is healthcare. It’s promoting your health, removing the roadblocks from true health.”

Because of his focus on good nutrition, Tim works closely with Donna Allgood, a personal trainer with a specialty in sports nutrition and the owner of Tailored Meals.

“I believe all disease starts in the gut,” she said. “If you take care of yourself nutritionally, your body can handle a lot of stress.”

The meals she prepares for her clients are organic, high-protein, and low-carb. Eating well isn’t just preventative, she said. It also helps reverse symptoms people are experiencing (such as memory loss and diabetes-related symptoms).

“I still believe there is room for modern medicine,” Tim said. “It’s integrative. You’ve got to mix it together.”

Legendary is a family affair; In addition to Tim and Sarah, their children Josie and Tatum Voss and Kylaa and Jayden McGhee work there. Tatum is a licensed aesthetician who offers some services at Legendary and will open her own spa in Prescott.

Tim, who is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, offers a free initial consultation to anyone interested in learning more about how Legendary Total Wellness and Longevity Spa can help them achieve optimal health. He will review current medications and make recommendations.
