Expanding Offerings and Options for Every Woman
Michelle Beck and Maria Gannon had formed a friendship in Minnesota shortly before Beck and her family moved to Prescott in 2003. Some years later, after retiring from a successful 30-year career in the salon industry, Gannon and her husband found themselves following the footsteps of the Becks, and soon made Prescott their home in 2017. A love for fashion and all things Prescott brought the two women together again, and Purple Clover was established in 2018. Named for Beck’s favorite color, and Gannon’s favorite flower, the shop debuted as a small vendor space at 5-A Vintage Market on Sheldon Street. With previous locations that included Montana Rose and Livie Lou’s Salon, the store now rents a comfortable space in the Bashford Courts Building in the heart of downtown Prescott. Says Beck, “We love the downtown environment! Being around the courthouse square is so exciting, especially around the holidays.” The boutique offers a unique collection of the newest trends in fashion and accessories from private labels, popular name brands, smaller artisans and talented jewelry artists. Adds Gannon, “We want every woman who comes into our store to find that perfect outfit, whether it’s for everyday wear or a special event.” The two pride themselves in offering exceptional one-on-one service and personal styling, and encourage their clientele to showcase their Purple Clover style on Instagram by using #purplecloverprescott to be featured on the boutique’s IG page. Purple Clover, like many other retailers who recognized the need to change their model as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic, will soon cater to those who prefer to continue social distancing and shop from the comfort of their homes. Enhanced options through Instagram and Facebook, as well as the Purple Clover website, will continue to showcase items that the store carries. Adds Beck, “We realize the importance of shopping options now and in the future, and we want to continue to expand our offerings to make women feel confident and stylish!”

How Tuesday King Spagnuolo Weaves the Community Closer Through Unique, Colorful Socks
It took a year-long sailing trip across the Pacific Ocean for Tuesday King Spagnuolo to realize she did not want to go back to the IT industry she had left before embarking on her marine adventure. When she returned, Spagnuolo switched gears and worked retail for 20 years in the same store. Her husband Vince encouraged her to work for herself, and when a space became available across the street from where she worked, Spagnuolo jumped at the chance. Opening the first Lost In Socks in Ventura Harbor Village near the beach, Spagnuolo now has two more sock stores including a location at Bashford Courts in Downtown Prescott and her newest store in downtown Scottsdale on 5th Avenue. “Having a downtown location for a business is the busiest area in town. Our Prescott store is at the heart of activity where all the tourists come. Location is so important!” Bashford Courts has always been an attraction for visitors and residents and continues to gather activity as Prescott rolls into gear after the COVID pandemic. Spagnuolo prides herself on the cleanliness of the store and states, “We have always kept the store clean and wiped down. Now we wipe the counter area every time and have hand sanitizer available.” Lost in Socks sells quality brands of socks and a wide selection representing favorite sports teams. Says Spagnuolo, “We sell fun socks, lucky socks, money socks, left socks, right socks, socks for nerds and socks for jocks. We have cute socks, crazy socks, and socks for spring and fall!
