Helken & Horn Advertising Agency Celebrates 25 Years Helping Local Business Owners—and the Community—Prosper

By Tracey Horn, President, Helken & Horn Advertising Agency

Phoenix may be the center for advertising agencies in Arizona, but leading companies in Greater Prescott prefer an advertising agency with roots in the community: Helken & Horn.

As Helken & Horn Advertising Agency celebrates 25 years of partnering with clients in Northern Arizona, President Tracey Horn reflected on her agency’s success and why most clients have been with the agency for a decade or longer.

“We’re able to build lasting relationships with our clients based on trust and loyalty,” said Horn. “Unlike larger ad agencies, we offer our clients exclusivity–we never work with more than one client in the same category.”

Helken & Horn is a full service ad agency offering radio, television, video, newspaper and digital communications. Horn credits much of the agency’s success to her team of talented graphic designers, copywriters, media planners, website designers, and social media experts.

“In advertising, having the right talent is everything,” said Horn. “You need smart, creative people to solve the marketing challenges each business is facing.”

Horn’s team uses strategic marketing communications and out-of-the-box thinking to help clients prosper under all market conditions. During the Covid pandemic, the agency’s focus has been making sure each client’s brand is visible, viable, and adaptable. For instance, when local restaurant Murphy’s had to close dine-in services for a month due to Covid, Horn’s agency helped the restaurant earn income and retain jobs by returning to its roots as a General Store.

“In times like these, it’s critical to keep your brand going and your messaging out there so

people know you’re still open for business,” said Horn. “Our clients who’ve maintained their communication programs are still doing really well.”

With Helken & Horn, clients can focus on running their business while the agency creates effective marketing and advertising materials.

“Our clients know we can do this more professionally and more affordably than they can,” said Horn. “It helps that we’re not a massive agency charging huge agency prices.”

Horn said she tells new clients: “Your job is being the best at what you do. Our job is making sure everybody knows it.”

In addition to working with local businesses, Horn’s team has also worked on state and local political campaigns and helped with passage of the grassroots initiative Proposition 443. The team helped to create Prescott’s New Year’s Eve Boot Drop and continues to volunteer on all the marketing for this annual event. “When it comes to helping Prescott be the best it can be, even if we’re working behind the scenes to make things happen, we’re honored to be part of this great community,” said Horn. “We look forward to serving clients in Northern Arizona for another 25 years!”
