Arizona’s Christmas City
The festivities kick off with the 27th Annual Holiday Light Parade & Bonfire Festival at 6 p.m. Saturday, November 30 on Cortez Street. Led by Santa, the parade features more than 40 illuminated floats and music from local school bands. The fun continues at Mile High Middle School’s field from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with music, Santa visits, and reindeer games for the kids. Enjoy a closer look at the floats parked on the field and live performances from Prescott High School and Bradshaw Mountain High School marching bands. Entrance is through the gate on Goodwin Street, across from Old Firehouse Plaza.
Better Together
Many Prescott-area residents will forever remember the protest and counter-protests that took place on The Courthouse Square in early September. What many people do not know is that local teens organized and facilitated the September 4 Black Lives Matter protest as a way to practice their First Amendment rights, and display a representative and visible presence of the BIPOC community from the Prescott area. When they arrived, they said, they were met with a terrifying counter-protest.

Annual Fun Run promises Route 66 nostalgia
The 32nd annual Fun Run starts in Seligman Friday, May 3 and winds 140 miles to the Colorado River by Sunday, May 5. It’s the longest remaining continuous stretch of Old Route 66, and travelers are sure to feel a blast from the past at every stop.“We get people from all over the world,” relates the “Angel of Route 66,” Angel Delgadillo. “They know the American Dream is alive and well.”
