Suze’s Prescott Center for the Arts
We sat down with Janet Eastin, Board Member of Suze’s Prescott Center for the Arts (SPCA) Board of Directors, to learn why she supports the arts in Prescott.
Prescott Woman Magazine (PWM): How long have you been on the Board of Directors?
Janet Eastin: I moved to Prescott in October 2021 and was voted onto the SPCA Board in January. I will be participating as a member of the Bylaws, Fundraising, and Board Retreat Planning Committees, for starters. I’m looking forward to becoming familiar with and understanding the current goals of the board so I can incorporate my contributions and background in the best way.
PWM: What drew you to becoming involved with SPCA?
Janet: My lifelong love of theater combined with my experiences as a multi-management association executive drew me to SPCA and what it offers. It did not take long for me to discover that this is where I could best put my energy.
PWM: What are some of your goals for SPCA in the upcoming year?
Janet: Having been exposed to many of the art wonders of the world through living in Europe for four years, and later on through more extensive travels, I naturally gravitated to the arts in Prescott as a source of enjoyment and personal participation. I’m excited about helping SPCA further infuse itself into the local—and widening—community through its art classes, workshops, play productions, special events, and all else it does to become a destination for the art lover in all of us.
PWM: What do you do when you are not involved with SPCA (hobbies, family, groups, etc.)?
Janet: I have joined the Republican Women of Prescott to quench my political thirst, and I enjoy trips to Phoenix to use my previously purchased theater tickets. My love of music led me to the barbershop music form of Sweet Adelines and an international gold medal. For the past twenty-plus years, my sorority sisters and I have enjoyed getting together every eighteen months in different cities in the U.S. The importance of family is a given; my singing and sorority relationships add even more value to my life.
