Local Business Owner Brings Creativity, Resilience, and Strong Leadership to the Table

Prescott Woman Magazine chatted with Diane Babb, with Pralines of Prescott, to find out what makes her enjoy being a part of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce and how it benefits her business.

PWM: How long have you been a member of the Prescott Chamber, and what do you enjoy most about being part of this organization?

Diane: We’ve been Prescott Chamber members since 2017, which has helped us connect with business owners and contributing to Prescott’s growth and community.

PWM: In your experience, how does the Prescott Chamber differ from other local groups?

Diane: The Prescott Chamber of Commerce has been invaluable, offering many resources and programs. Their focus on collaboration helps businesses like ours grow and thrive.

PWM: Tell us about what brought you to Prescott and your employment role.

Diane: In 2017, my husband and I moved to Prescott to raise our family in a smaller town. Discovering Pralines of Prescott felt like the perfect fit.

PWM: Do you have any kids, significant others, fur babies, or family members in the area?

Diane: I’m lucky to have my husband, twin boys, parents, niece, and brother’s family in Prescott, making it feel like home.

PWM: Are you involved in any initiatives or projects that aim to uplift our community?

Diane: We support local causes like the Arizona Wildfire Academy, the Trinity Gala, schools, veterans, and mental health, helping strengthen our community through donations and event sponsorships.

PWM: What inspired you to start your business, and how has that inspiration evolved?

Diane: We’re grateful to the founders of Pralines of Prescott for creating such a beloved business. Since purchasing, we’ve expanded offerings while staying true to our original mission.

PWM: How do you balance the demands of running a business with personal life, especially in the context of societal expectations?

Diane: Balancing business and life is a challenge. Setting priorities, embracing imperfection, and making time for family and church keeps me grounded.

PWM: What do you wish you had known when first starting your business, and what advice do you have for women considering launching their own local business?

Diane: Running a business is tough, but understanding key differences, learning to delegate, and staying true to your “why” is essential for success and balance.

PWM: Is there a common misconception about women in business that you would like to address?

Diane: A common misconception is that women in business are just hobbyists. I believe we bring creativity, resilience, and strong leadership to the table.

PWM: Is there anything else you’d like to share that people might not know about you or your work?

Diane: This job is challenging but rewarding. I’m incredibly grateful for the Prescott community’s support and honored to be part of such a kind, welcoming town.
