Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary remains open to the public. We are closely monitoring appropriate news and updates regarding the COVID-19 virus and are following the recommendations of the CDC and local/federal governments. Please visit our website, www.heritageparkzoo.org and/or our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/HeritageParkZoo to receive up to date information regarding zoo news and posted changes.
We are committed to maintaining a safe open-air environment for our visitors, volunteers, staff and animals. We have taken and continue to maintain the following measures to ensure this safety:
- Increased cleaning and sanitation of all public areas throughout the park.
- Postponed all group events through the end of April 2020. These include Breakfast with the Lynx, Easter Eggstravaganza, Earth Day Celebration, Sip & Paint and Photo Tours.
- Cancelled tours and educational on-site and off-site presentations until further notice.
- Cancelled all volunteer and staff meetings, trainings and group operational gatherings.
A staff member will be contacting you if you have already registered for one of our ticketed events. To lessen the economic impact on our Sanctuary, we ask that you consider moving your reservation to the rescheduled date or consider donating your registration fee.
This unfortunate situation is having a severe impact on our financial sustainability and is affecting one of the busiest times of the year for us. We are asking for the community’s assistance in supporting us through these unprecedented times. Please visit our website atwww.heritageparkzoo.org to donate. As always, we continue to welcome donations of animal meat and produce. If you have meat you would like to donate, please call us at 928-778-4242 ext. 10.
