Dr. Anita Scheer’s Thrive Family Chiropractic Offers Services Highlighting Specialized Care for Children

By Tara Fort

Prior to starting her career as a chiropractor and owner of Thrive Family Chiropractic, Dr. Anita Scheer had a career as an accountant. But it was her passion about understanding the intricate connection between the brain and body—and how that connection influences our overall well-being—that drew her to a second career. She said, “Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of neurologically based chiropractic care and supporting individuals at every stage of life—and that is what drives me every day.”

After working with so many patients, Dr. Scheer noticed a growing need among families dealing with neurodevelopmental challenges in their children—challenges like socialization, behavior and learning difficulties. She knew right then to foster her decision to dedicate the scope of her practice to helping these affected children. Now, as a certified Pediatric Experience©, FOCUS Academy© certified doctor, and Brain Blossom© provider, Dr. Scheer offers specialized care that supports and nurtures whole child development focusing on both the brain and the body.

Scheer and her staff work to create a supporting environment for children to thrive by identifying gaps in cognitive growth and implementing proper tools and systems to propel and improve overall development for a fulfilling and improved progression through their lives. She added, “Parents often come to us feeling overwhelmed and uncertain, but after working together they notice significant improvements in their child’s focus, behavior, development and confidence. Our approach empowers families with practical strategies to navigate challenging moments, offering brain-based resources and fun connection activities that nurture growth at home and in everyday life. Early intervention is key. The brain is highly adaptable and the sooner we address developmental concerns, the better the outcomes. Parents should trust their instincts and seek guidance from professionals who take a comprehensive brain-based model for care.”

Dr. Scheer’s methodology extends beyond traditional spinal alignment practices. After a thorough history including a brain-based assessment covering primitive reflexes, gross and fine motor skills, Scheer said, “We address the brain-body connection through a functional lens allowing us to answer key questions about how the brain sends and receives information, and what primary tools the brain uses to process that information.” She added, “I create customized strategies tailored to each individual’s unique needs with tools and apps, as well as in-office activity stations and games that encourage neurological stimulation. While much of our focus is on helping children with developmental challenges, this neurocognitive care is just as effective for teens and adults. We offer these services to all our practice members, helping them keep their minds and bodies functioning at their best throughout their lives.”

Within the community, Dr. Scheer is making a massive impact empowering families to understand and support their child’s development by raising awareness about the importance of brain-based neurological care through the free workshop Brain Development & Neuro-Deflective Behaviors—ADHD, Anxiety, Sensory, and Autism Spectrum—Taking a Deeper Look into the Developing Brain.
