Telling the stories that shape our community.

Prescott Woman Magazine is Northern Arizona’s premier women-focused media platform, dedicated to celebrating the voices, stories, and impact of the Prescott Quad Cities. What began as a lifestyle magazine has evolved into a dynamic, digital-forward brand rooted in storytelling, connection, and community uplift.

We spotlight the women who lead, create, serve, and inspire — entrepreneurs, artists, educators, advocates, and changemakers whose work shapes the place we call home. Through powerful profiles, thoughtful features, and meaningful conversations, we go beyond the surface to share stories that matter.

Today, our storytelling lives across multiple platforms. Through the She Spark Podcast, we amplify real conversations around leadership, purpose, growth, and connection. Through the Prescott Woman Awards, we honor women whose courage, compassion, and contributions make a lasting difference. And through Portraits with Purpose, we combine storytelling and service, using photography to give back and uplift local nonprofits.

More than a magazine, Prescott Woman is a movement — a trusted platform for women’s voices, a connector of community, and a catalyst for positive change. We believe stories have power, visibility creates opportunity, and when women rise, communities thrive.

Join us as we continue to celebrate Prescott — digitally, boldly, and with heart — one story, one spark, and one woman at a time.

Turn Up the Heat

Turn Up the Heat

There’s something powerful about cooking with intention. Lighting a candle on a Tuesday night. Trying a new flavor. Slowing down long enough to savor what’s on the plate — and who’s sitting across from you.

Real connection often starts in the kitchen, where aromas fill the air, hands brush at the stove, and flavor becomes an experience you create together.

At Spice Traveler, the shelves are filled with ingredients that do more than season a dish — they inspire it. It’s about bold blends, warming spices, and sweet finishes that turn a simple dinner into something memorable.

The Gift of Early Childhood

The Gift of Early Childhood

When kids get a good start, it’s better for everyone.

This past August, I got the chance to hear Dr. Bruce Perry speak at the national conference of Prevent Child Abuse America. Dr. Perry, a renowned neuroscientist and co-author of What Happened to You? with Oprah Winfrey, focuses on how early experiences shape our brains, bodies, and behaviors. He said it best: “The great gift of early childhood is its opportunity to transform our society.”

Leaning In

Leaning In

A month ago, I decided to join a self-defense workshop at the Healthy Families Institute that we produced in partnership with the DCS Office of Prevention. I know very little about physical self-defense, but I’ve always admired the discipline of those who practice martial arts. At the workshop, we learned a simple technique on how to free ourselves from an aggressor. We practiced (gently) on each other.

It was fun, but it wasn’t intuitive. Our instructor, Scott, explained that if someone is grabbing you, your first impulse is typically to pull away, but that pulling away actually gives the aggressor more leverage. The way to throw off the aggressor is to first lean in. Leaning in gives you the leverage to free yourself.

I couldn’t help but see a broader metaphor.

The Healing Power of Plants

The Healing Power of Plants

I call myself a “plant medicine woman” because I have worked with the healing power of plants for most of my adult life as a gardener, student, teacher, and practitioner.  Now that I’ve reached the quarter-century mark, I can honestly say that although I had found my life’s purpose years ago, there was another path to explore.  As many of us discover, just when you think you’ve reached a saturation point, there’s always more to learn.
