Telling the stories that shape our community.
A Way of Life
The Kieckhefers, owners of the K4 Ranches outside of Prescott and the 3T Feed Yard in southern Arizona and the Diamond A Cattle Company in Seligman Arizona, raise cattle, breed and train horses, and sell beef through their company, Gourmet Beef (see Gourmet Beef, page xx). They also rodeo; Sarah is a barrel racer and breakaway roper, and Rick is a team roper.
This lifestyle is nonstop: Sarah’s working from the time she gets up in the morning until after sundown every day at the ranch.
Pure Magic
Summer in Prescott is pure magic: warm days, cool evenings, and a community that knows how to savor every sun-drenched moment. Whether you’re gathering with friends for an afternoon patio date or lounging poolside with a good book, there’s no better way to celebrate the season than with a refreshing drink in hand. Luckily, Rafter Eleven is here to make your summer even sweeter and more delicious.
Strings, Sunshine & Community Spirit: The Prescott Bluegrass Festival Returns to Downtown Prescott
Every summer, the heart of downtown Prescott comes alive with the unmistakable sound of banjos, fiddles, mandolins, and harmonies drifting beneath the historic courthouse elms. The Prescott Bluegrass Festival, one of Arizona’s most beloved music traditions, returns June 20–21, 2026, bringing together musicians, families, visitors, and bluegrass enthusiasts for a weekend of free entertainment and community celebration.
Neighbors Feeding Neighbors
At 10 a.m. each day, the Prescott Meals on Wheels headquarters is a hive of activity. Food’s cooking, volunteers are packaging it up, and drivers are loading their cars to head out for delivery. The sounds of chatting and laughter keep the place abuzz as folks work together to fulfill the Meals on Wheels mission: enabling adults to maintain independence and dignity by delivering community, nourishment, and care.
When Kristy and Dave Marston moved to Prescott in 2003, they needed something to do. Their friends in New Jersey had volunteered for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed it, so the Marstons found the local chapter and signed on.
“At first, we did it because our friends had done it,” Kristy said during a recent interview. Then they realized what a big need the organization fills. “People need to be fed.”
And, the Marstons enjoy it so much, they’ve stayed for more than 20 years.

Perfect Eight
Butterfly bush thrives in Arizona gardens, for good reason. Our abundant mountain sunshine is just what these bloom-loving plants crave. They soak up those rays and produce a profusion of nectar-rich flowers butterflies adore.
Striving for Excellence + Making a Positive Impact
Dr. Kelsie Stevens finds her greatest joy in giving patients clear, comfortable vision. Using the latest technology to assist Premier Eye Center patients with vision challenges, Dr. Stevens works with all levels of patients.
During a recent interview, she said, “I specialize in scleral lenses—contact lenses designed for patients who cannot wear normal soft contact lenses.” These lenses, which do not sit fully on the eye, are shaped like a bowl, which vaults over the cornea. She added, “These lenses can give patients great vision when glasses and standard contact lenses can’t.”
Premier Eye Center Office Manager and Co-Owner Tracy Sullivan said, “Dr. Stevens really cares about her patients and about providing the best care for them. She is a joy to work with because of her great personality, high energy, awesome laugh, and her commitment to our patients and the community. She truly has made a positive impact as she strives for excellence in this profession.”
