Local Hospitality Professional Enjoys Helping to Create an Incredible Place to Work and Live

Prescott Woman Magazine chatted with Angela Johnson, Sales/Marketing Director at The Hampton Inn, to find out what makes her enjoy being a part of the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce and how it benefits her business.

PWM: How long have you been a member of the Prescott Valley Chamber, and what do you enjoy most about being part of this organization?

Angela: The Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express have been members for several years. Three years ago, I became Sales/Marketing Director for both properties and got personally involved. I love how relationships develop through the chamber.

PWM: In your experience, how does the PV Chamber differ from other local groups?

Angela: The Prescott Valley Chamber connects people and businesses, building a strong economy and fostering growth. This creates an incredible place to work and live. Though our hotels are outside town, we’re proud to be part of the community.

PWM: Can you share what led you to the Prescott Valley area and your current position in your employment?

Angela: I moved to Prescott Valley in 2018 from Williams with my husband and three sons. I transitioned from working at an Inn in Williams to a hotel in Prescott Valley. During this time, I also taught preschool at the YMCA before returning to hospitality as Director of Sales for the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

PWM: Do you hold any other positions within the chamber, such as Ambassador, Board Member, or staff?

Angela: I am proud to be the Chamber Ambassador Vice President.

PWM: Do you have any kids, significant others, fur babies, or family members in the area?

Angela: I have an amazing family. My husband and I have been married 26 years. We are proud parents of three adult sons, and grandparents to four grandsons and two sweet grand puppies.

PWM: Are you involved in any initiatives or projects that aim to uplift our community?

Angela: Volunteering with Real Hope Inc. brings joy to my soul. In hospitality, we’re blessed to support non-profits through offering meeting spaces and drives for diapers, food, and toys. As locally owned hotels, we take pride in giving back.

PWM: How do you balance your role in the chamber with other professional and personal commitments?

Angela: Balancing is an ongoing process.

PWM: What inspired you to start your business, and how has that inspiration evolved?

Angela: Although I didn’t start the business, my mom was a travel agent when I was a baby. Her client relationships inspired me and shaped my hospitality attitude.

PWM: Is there a common misconception about women in business that you would like to address?

Angela: For all women in business, what you do is only a part of who you are.
