Boys & Girls Clubs strive to expand adventure-based programming and its myriad benefits to even more children
As a staple in our community, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central AZ continue to provide adventures every day after school. They have removed day care from their vocabulary and focus on how kids in Prescott and Prescott Valley can make the most of their after-school time.
With the launch of the Clubs’ adventure programming, staff members have seen a rise in confidence and self-determination among the youth they serve. Adventure-based programs help kids gain the self-esteem needed to succeed in academics and extra-curricular activities. The Clubs are always here to serve as a safe space for all kids to attend, and they feel it’s their duty to not sit idly as they take care of the youth of today.
Exploring new opportunities and challenges is the best way to develop the skills needed for success as Club kids grow into citizens and leaders themselves. The Clubs’ staff members love to share Club stories with their contributors and stakeholders as they grow. They are honored to have so many advocates and supporters for their new direction in adventure programming. Their goal is to continue with outdoor and adventure-based activities and grow this feature into something made available to all youth in our community.
This growth requires a new level of capacity among staff, volunteers, and resources. The success of their entertainment gala, Dancing for the Stars, has grown the Clubs to a point of sustainability and health as they serve kids more than 200 days per year, but now is the time to serve more. As Dancing for the Stars continues to maintain operations, the Clubs are looking to provide new fun ways to support the Clubs and kids while growing their capacity to serve more communities where kids need them most. As they survey the surrounding quad-cities and neighboring towns across Yavapai County, they know they can and should do more. The board and staff teams are ready to mobilize and serve kids in any capacity, from academic help to transportation. The Clubs are on a mission to be more available to the youth in our towns and cities.
As they close 2024, the Boys & Girls Clubs are a healthy charity with clear and transparent initiatives surrounding their funding sources. They are proud to partner with so many great individuals and businesses who sponsor their events and provide monetary support throughout the year. As they venture into 2025, they have profound dreams of growth and extended services, and they need help. While the Clubs will still provide outstanding, jaw-dropping events to their community of supporters, they are always grateful for individual donations to support their initiatives of growth and service to all kids who need them.
