In the vibrant city of Prescott, Breeanya Hinkel radiates warmth and empowerment, touching lives with her passion for community engagement. With an expanse of roles and initiatives, her commitment to lifting others is evident in every endeavor she embarks upon.
Her list of achievements and responsibilities is impressive; she is:
- The Owner and Publisher of Prescott Woman Magazine
- Founder of the Annual Prescott Woman Awards
- Content Manager for the Prescott Arts Journey
- Project & Art Education Program Manager & Advisory Committee Chair at ‘Tis
- The Founder of Empowering Woman – Got a Minute? Podcast
- The secretary on the board for the Prescott Downtown Partnership
- Secretary on the 4th Friday Art Walk Advisory Council
- A founding member of Finding and Making the Good.
In previous years, she also served on the committee for Prescott Area Women Who
Care, as Vice President of Suze’s Prescott Center for the Arts and as Vice President of
Prescott Area Young Professionals. She also was a Big Sister for Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters for two years before her Little sister moved away.
With Breeanya’s extensive list of titles and work to be done each week, she finds healthy ways to keep a positive work-life balance, which she said isn’t just about juggling responsibilities; it’s about thriving in both your professional and personal life. By striking the right balance, you’ll unlock greater fulfillment, boost productivity, and create a life that’s truly worth living.
“Work-life balance can undoubtedly be challenging, but it’s important,” she said. “My favorite ways to recharge are to hike, spend quality time with friends and loved ones, walk the dog, and travel. Traveling offers a nice escape from the daily grind, and I love learning about other cultures.”
In the face of adversity, Breeanya’s resilience shines through. She launched the “Empowering Women – Got a Minute? Podcast” amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic with the idea of telling local women’s stories differently. She uplifts listeners through candid conversations and inspiring stories, reminding them of their strength and resilience in the face of life’s obstacles.“We all hold the tools to empower each other just by listening and lifting each other,” she said. “Talking with someone and telling your story is empowering and impactful.”
The first episode aired in June 2020 with the inaugural “Prescott Strong” episode. Now, with more than fifty episodes, the podcast features area women in business, leadership, health care, STEAM, and more.
One of the biggest takeaways is the theme of self-care. In almost every episode, you’ll hear women talk about how taking time to do things for themselves helps them become better leaders, mothers, partners, and community members. Many episodes cover wearing many hats, but Breeanya always reminds their guests that one of those hats should be your crown.
In a world where women continue to shatter the glass ceiling, she said, it’s crucial to emphasize collaboration over competitiveness in the pursuit of success, especially within women-owned businesses.
“Although healthy competition can be a powerful motivator towards success, supporting other women in a male-dominated business world is crucial for fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and solidarity among female entrepreneurs,” she said. “Women-owned businesses can create a supportive ecosystem that propels everyone forward by lifting each other, sharing resources, offering mentorship, and celebrating each other’s successes.”
As Breeanya looks back at her successes, she leaves us with beautiful insight: “Have patience and grace with yourself. Life is undoubtedly a journey, but it may not lead you to where you need to be if it isn’t for the twists and turns.”
As Prescott continues to evolve and embrace diversity, Breeanya stands at the forefront, championing a community where all are welcomed and celebrated in “Everybody’s Hometown.” She leaves a lasting mark with her boundless energy and unwavering dedication, shaping a future filled with hope, inspiration, and endless possibilities.
Breeanya has achieved many milestones since 2020, such as marrying her loving husband, Daniel, and adopting their puppy, Jasper, in 2022. She also took the stage and participated as a celebrity dancer for the 2023 Boys and Girls Clubs Dancing for the Stars, which included more than six months of fundraising, events, and training. She performed an empowering dance on stage with her talented, professional last-minute dance partner, Leo.
Fast forward to 2024. Breeanya celebrates Prescott Woman Magazine’s 20th anniversary and hosts the 2nd Annual Prescott Woman Awards. The magazine and event honor local women involved in food service, education, wellness, adventure, business, art, and so much more!
In Breeanya’s unwavering dedication to empowerment and community, Prescott finds a guiding light, illuminating paths of connection and growth for all. As she continues to inspire and uplift, her legacy of compassion and resilience will forever be woven into Prescott’s vibrant tapestry, leaving a lasting impact for generations to come.
