Young Professionals Shine in Prescott
After living in three different cities over the course of her life, Dalaney Mason truly feels like she’s found her forever home in Prescott.
After growing up in Lake Havasu City, Dalaney got married. When her husband joined the military, the couple moved to Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in California. They lived there for two years until he got out, and they relocated to Prescott … they were done with Lake Havasu City’s excruciating summers.
Dalaney ended up enrolling at Yavapai College, pursuing a degree in Business Management. It didn’t take her long to realize she didn’t want a typical managerial job; she decided instead to turn her passion for photography into a full-time career.
Even though you don’t need a degree to be a photographer, Dalaney is so grateful for the knowledge that she gained from going to school for business, because she now runs and manages her own: Dalaney Mason Photography LLC.
Photography has been Dalaney’s passion for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she was the historian in her local 4-H group, in charge of documenting all of the meetings and events the group would put on, and then presenting a scrapbook at the end of the year.
She feels so blessed that she is now able to have her dream job while also being able to support her family with it. Dalaney specializes in photographing couples, anywhere from maternity to weddings, and loves that she gets to document the most important milestones in their lives for them.
Since moving to Prescott, running her business and meeting different clients from around the area has helped Dalaney to meet so many amazing people. PAYP is another awesome way to do just that and she loves that it gives her the chance to meet so many other like-minded individuals.
Dalaney’s newest title:“Mom.” She gave birth to a baby boy last year. Out of all of the jobs she has had, including running her business, this has been by far the hardest. It’s tricky trying to find a balance between work and taking care of a baby, especially while working from home. Even with that, it has also been the most rewarding job by far and inspires her to work even harder. She wants to prove to her son, and any future children, that it really is possible to be successful and earn a living doing something you love.
