What began as a lifestyle magazine has evolved into a dynamic, digital-forward brand rooted in storytelling, connection, and community uplift.

‘You Deserve to Feel Safe’
The Yavapai Family Advocacy Center’s (YFAC) mission statement reads: “to reduce trauma to victims of abuse by providing a safe and supportive environment and facilitating a team approach to advocacy, investigation, and prosecution.”
But the people behind the organization describe their work a bit differently; they say they guide their clients to find their voice, take back their power, and rediscover their worth and value (or discover them for the first time).

At its heart is Máiréad Nesbitt – a Grammy® and Emmy®-nominated violinist, composer, and founding member of the internationally celebrated phenomenon Celtic Woman – whose artistry, passion, and storytelling have captivated millions around the world.

‘Your Unique Strengths Matter’
Prescott Woman magazine chatted with Natasha Baydakova of Medina Hospitality to find out what makes her enjoy being part of the Prescott Downtown Partnership and how it benefits her career.
Embracing Innovation
Kelsey Secor is no newcomer to Prescott Unified School District (PUSD). Initially hired in July 2008 as an educator, since 2022, she has embraced her newest evolving role as Director of Instructional Support. This role’s initiative is to support district leaders in keeping up with education trends and the latest research while providing meaningful and relevant professional development opportunities.
She said, “I’ve been a student, teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, director, and parent — all within PUSD.” District life is not more all-encompassing than that, and Kelsey gives 100 percent in every role.
Andrea and Esther
Esther, 94, was born in a small town in Czechoslovakia and spent months in Auschwitz as a teen and eventually emigrated to the U.S. as an adult. Andrea, 60, was born and raised in Germany before moving to the states in 1985.
The pair met while working on The Honey Girl documentary, which aims to share Esther’s inspiring message of using the tools of love and forgiveness to embrace life.

Difficulties Become Possibilities
any daily miracles occur through Horses with Heart in Chino Valley. A new Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program promises to create even more.
Accredited through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, Horses with Heart has provided therapeutic riding to people with disabilities, veterans, first responders, and seniors since 1993.
EAL is an experiential learning method (based on experiences and observation) that promotes personal growth and improved life skills through partnership with horses. Skills developed include trust, confidence, communication, social skills, boundary setting, respect, critical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership. Credentialed facilitators guide safe interactions with our horses.
Artsy Magic
What started out as just-for-fun artwork on Instagram, “The Artsy Blonde” gained a number of followers, including a Phoenix-based mother-daughter team in search of an illustrator for their book. “Princess Pippa & The Crown of Kindness” is a sweet story about a little girl who believes lipstick makes her beautiful. Throughout the book, she learns that a heart of gold allows beauty to shine from within, and Kelly said, “That is the message I want girls to hear and take to heart.”
Connection and True Healing
Family Nurse Practitioner Louella Bauman started Yavapai Family Medical two years ago so she could practice medicine the way she sees it: as a modality to truly heal her patients.
“I wanted to be able to find the cause of the symptoms so we could actually cure patients instead of just treating them,” she said.
The Prescott native and Prescott High School class of 2000 graduate said during a recent interview that while many patients come in seeking relief from their symptoms, she said, “symptoms are not the illness, they direct you to the cause”.
Louella and her staff take a more natural approach, looking deeper and seeking to treat the deficiency behind the symptom’s cause and cure the root problem. In fact, in addition to her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, Louella recently earned her certification as an Acute Practice Holistic Nurse Practitioner (also known as a naturopath).

What are some reasons not to renovate your home? Although it may seem odd that a major remodeling company would want to discuss reasons not to remodel, the goal of any company should be serving its people. People come first.
Some of the questions I hear most frequently from potential customers include whether or not to remodel, what to remodel, and how much of an investment a project might be.
