Texas Roadhouse managing partner finds her passion in creating a fun, caring environment for guests and employees—and giving back to the community

Prescott Woman Magazine chatted with Justine Burch, Managing Partner at Texas Roadhouse of Prescott, to find out what makes her enjoy being a part of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce and how it benefits her business.

PWM: How long have you been a member of the Prescott Chamber, and what do you enjoy most about being part of this organization?

Justine: I joined with Texas Roadhouse of Prescott on March 8, 2024. I enjoy the depth of involvement within the community via the Chamber.

PWM: In your experience, how does the Prescott Chamber differ from other local groups?

Justine: Working with the Chamber has been a delight. Everyone is genuine and knowledgeable, making events smooth. Chamber members truly want to help my business succeed.

PWM: Tell us about what brought you to Prescott and your employment role.

Justine: As a fifth-generation Prescottonian, I’ve always called this area home and have no desire to relocate. I joined Texas Roadhouse of Prescott in January 2017 and found my passion.

PWM: Do you have any kids, a significant other, fur babies, or family members in the area?

Justine: My wife and I have been together for 10 years and share two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I have close family nearby, too!

PWM: Are you involved in the community? If so, what initiatives or projects are you currently involved in that aim to uplift our community?

Justine: Yes, we support local schools by providing free kids meals and appetizers for teachers. In October, we raise funds for The Baskin Breast Care Center, and in November and December, we partner with the Prescott VA Hospital for veterans’ meals.

PWM: What inspired you to start your business, and how has that inspiration evolved?

Justine: I was inspired by Texas Roadhouse founder Kent Taylor’s love and compassion, motivating me to create a fun, caring environment for guests and employees.

PWM: How do you balance the demands of running a business with personal life, especially in the context of societal expectations?

Justine: I’ve learned that while company support is crucial for success, my wife and family’s understanding is equally vital. As I grow in my role, I’m finding ways to balance a successful business with a happy family life.

PWM: What do you wish you had known when first starting your business, and what advice do you have for women considering launching their own local business?

Justine: I wish I’d known that failures don’t define you. Embrace them as learning opportunities. Stay passionate about your venture; it helps you endure the ups and downs of business.

PWM: Is there a common misconception about women in business that you would like to address?

Justine: A common misconception is that women in leadership are overly emotional. In reality, our emotions enable us to show care and compassion, making us great leaders.
