Vanessa Perkins was born in San Miguel, El Salvador where her grandparents raised her in a small town.
When Vanessa was 16, she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she immediately took her first step into a rewarding hospitality career. From that moment, she realized that what made her happy was making others happy. She loved creating an experience for guests.
In the early years of her adult life, she excelled in such places as four-plus-diamond luxury hotels La Fonda on the Plaza, the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, and Hotel Santa Fe, all of which further drove her ambition to serve people as they enjoyed their vacation experiences and enabled her to solidify a career doing so.
In 2011, Vanessa and her husband, Jason, moved to Prescott, where, for the next eight years, she continued to thrive as the historic Hassayampa Inn’s Food and Beverage Director. Vanessa’s quality leadership and communication skills were paramount in continuing the iconic service reputation the Hassayampa Inn is known for today.
In 2020, at the height of the Pandemic, Vanessa was offered an opportunity to join the Founding Fathers Collective team. This position required her to learn quickly and adapt daily, culminating in the successful and highly anticipated opening as the Brand Lead for the largest self-serving tap wall in Arizona. She is very proud of her staff because without them she wouldn’t be able to do it.
“They’ve been great,” she said. “I could not ask for a better team.”
She is very happy to have the support and mentorship from the Founding Fathers family in what has been a life changing experience for her.
And yet, through all her career successes, she still yet has time to spend with her husband and her two daughters, Lilliana and Emily.
Vanessa now strives to teach her little girls that through perseverance and dedication, you can achieve great things. And that no matter where you came from or what difficulties you may encounter on your journeys, there will always be someone there with a positive attitude and great advice to help you along the way. She is very proud to be part of the Prescott community and she can’t imagine raising her daughters in any other place.
