Advertising Sales Manager, Prescott Newspapers
Marketing Chair, Prescott Area Young Professionals
I moved to Prescott 5 years ago from Gilchrist Oregon after graduating from Oregon State University with a degree in Business/Marketing. Relocating to Arizona with my husband, Aaron, was supposed to be a short term reprieve from the snowy winters. Prescott quickly became a home away from home with friendly faces, four wonderful seasons of weather and excellent outdoor life.
I began my career at Prescott Newspapers as an account executive. We were not planning on staying more than a year, but the position seemed challenging and I knew it would push my comfort zone and build a valuable skill set. I enjoyed working with local businesses to develop marketing solutions and share in their successes. Thanks to a wonderful company at Prescott Newspapers and an incredible mentor, I quickly found success. In 4 years I have been promoted to PNI., advertising sales manager. Today I look forward to bringing synergy to our products and the needs of the local marketplace, whether it is print or digital services. As part of PAYP, I serve as the Marketing Chair and recently the chair for our annual Party in the Pines event. The largest fundraiser I’ve chaired to date was notably the most successful. Raising over $12,000 for Prescott Unified School District Foundation with an estimated 3,000 in attendance. Thanks to a wonderful team of dedicated and motivated young professionals, this was a rewarding experience that I am very proud to have been a part of. Success as a young professional requires a hyper focus on personal growth and the constant quest for knowledge. As a millennial manager the stigmas are diverse; as a wife and mother the pressures are many; and as a leader, the responsibilities can be great. However, if it wasn’t all challenging, it wouldn’t be for me. Obstacles breed greatness and self-reflection is the greatest skill you can develop.
