Local media executive strives to keep the heart of downtown Prescott thriving

Prescott Woman Magazine chatted with Rebecca Horniman, the Operations Officer for Talking Glass Media, a Fain Signature Group, and a member of the Prescott Downtown Partnership, to find out what makes her enjoy Prescott and everything it has to offer.

PWM: How long have you been a member of the Prescott Downtown Partnership?

Rebecca: I have been a member of PDP since 2022.

PWM: Tell me a little bit about what brought you to Prescott and the role you are in as far as employment.

Rebecca: I grew up here in Prescott and had the opportunity to come home in 2015. I own an Education Consulting Business and have worked with Prescott Unified School District, Chino Unified School District, and Yavapai College. I now work as the Operations Officer for Talking Glass Media, a Fain Signature Group.

PWM: In PDP, what about the organization is different from others in the area, and what do you personally enjoy best about being in the PDP group?

Rebecca: The responsibility of the PDP is to help create and foster a vibrant downtown.  To me, that means successful businesses, engaged citizens, cultural events, and jobs. Through the work and partnership outreach, PDP can broaden the support base and keep the heart of our city thriving downtown. I am proud to be part of this organization.

PWM: Are you on the board or on a committee with PDP?

Rebecca: I was voted by PDP membership to the Board of Directors.

PWM: Do you have family here, kids, or other activities?

Rebecca: My husband and I live close to downtown Prescott, in the same house I grew up in. I feel very lucky to live in the house where my parents and grandparents lived, and we have now created generations of memories.

We enjoy the outside lifestyle that Prescott lends itself to. You can find us on the trails with our dog or playing tourist in our hometown with friends and family who love to visit from out of town.

PWM: How are you involved in the community?

Rebecca: It is very important for me to give back and be involved in my community; I shop local and love our farmer’s market. I also enjoy Prescott’s outside lifestyle and frequent our Prescott library. As a former educator, I enjoy volunteering with our schools and youth organizations. Here’s a list of my other involvements:

  • Founding Board Member of the PUSD Education Foundation
  • The Launch Pad Better Together Adult Advisory Committee member
  • The Prescott Downtown Partnership Board Member
  • Prescott Arizona Chamber member
  • Arizona Town Hall member
  • Member of the Arizona Association of Economic Development
  • Former Boys & Girls Clubs Dancing for the Stars committee member

PWM: Do you work downtown and what do you like best about that?

Rebecca: I do have a home office close to downtown, and I also enjoy scheduling meetings and working from local restaurants and coffee shops.

PWM: What else do you want to add that people might not know about you, or what you do/offer?

Rebecca: I am a lifelong learner with a curious nature. I am an educator turned corporate executive who excels at building teams and developing people for success. I thrive when I collaborate and create to put a plan into action. I feel passionate about being involved in my community and enjoy volunteering for local organizations and events. You can find me at Talking Glass Media or outside on the beautiful trails surrounding Prescott.
