The Artist Lounge is just one of the many new additions to Suze’s Prescott Center for the Arts, and its mission aligns with that of the center: to open more doors to the community of Prescott and provide access to art in all mediums.

The walls inside the Artist Lounge feature a rotating selection of artwork, and sometimes, cabinets displaying the work of local artists. Tables provide a space where visitors can create, and a small stage is available for poetry slams, rehearsing lines for auditions, and more. There is also a complimentary coffee station.

“We wanted this space to feel inviting and inspiring, so each person who enters feels comfortable to express themselves,” said Gallery Manager Dandelion Venture.

The local art on display rotates every four to six weeks, and artists can find submission forms at  http://www.prescottartcenter.org/gallery. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the featured work and create their own art during the gallery’s hours of operation, at no cost. While SPCA staff encourage artists to bring their own materials, the organization strives to create an inclusive environment by providing basic art materials so visitors can explore creation in new ways.

Visitors also can enjoy the Artist Lounge during SPCA’s monthly 4th Friday Art Walk event, when it and the Studio Gallery are open, offering complimentary beverages, live music, and light refreshments.

In addition to providing a creative art space, the Artist Lounge is also open for events, free classes, meetings, and more.

For those who are looking for a local venue to host your next event, want to teach an art class, are passionate about slam poetry and want a space to practice with friends, or need a space to host a monthly meeting, the Artist Lounge could be the perfect space.
