This Summer, Suze’s Prescott Center for the Arts Offers Transformative Opportunities Through Youth Camps and Programming

The belief that all youth should have equitable access to quality arts experiences was one of the major drivers of Suze’s Prescott Center for the Arts’ (PCA) campus expansion. Now that the new studio theater, gallery, and classrooms are open, Suze’s PCA is poised to fully carry out its mission as a full-service arts center by providing youth arts experiences that:

  • Unlock the potential of the next generation of creative thinkers.
  • Bring young people from different backgrounds together to build connections, understanding, and cultural awareness.
  • Provide personally meaningful activities that build confidence.
  • Build skills in communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and perseverance, all of which can improve academic performance, and equip youth for success in school, work, and life.

Suze’s PCA is proud to announce its expanded summer camp and programming offerings in performing, visual arts, and multi-disciplinary arts.

Performing Arts Camps

Theater Adventurers presents:

June 5 – June 16, ages 6-9; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost: $160.

A great theatrical program for youngsters, Theatre Adventurers is especially beneficial for those with little or no theatre experience. Youngsters will audition, rehearse, and perform a one-act play while learning theatre basics and having a lot of fun doing it!

Summer Stock Junior presents:

June 12- June 30, ages 10-15; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost: $375.

This program is a great experience for youth with or without prior experience, who would like to be involved in the performance of a “junior” musical. This experience will bridge from the “Theatre Adventurers” to “Teen Summer Stock,” preparing participants for the full theater experience. There will be three performances in the Cabaret. The days are scheduled to allow the participants to learn the process of producing a show with professional guidance and educational expertise.

Teen Summer Stock Ensemble
Ages 15-22. Cost $100 (for materials only; this program is subsidized through Suze’s PCA Scholarship program). More information will be available on the Suze’s PCA website after this print deadline.

This exciting and intensive program exclusively for older teens provides a taste of what it’s like to work in a professional setting. Teens are immersed in the process of mounting a fully produced musical on the PCA stage. The production is staffed by professionals. This program is designed for teens interested in a career in theater as well as teens who want to learn life skills through the arts.
