After a two-year hiatus, Prescott’s premier event for Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters is slated for November 12 at the Prescott Resort
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the staff of Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters (YBBBS) is excited to announce that Prescott’s premier event for the youth-serving organization is returning Saturday, November 12.
“The Annual Grand Gala is back! This event has been a staple in the community for several decades and as we honor our 50-year history and pay homage to our seventies roots, we hope you’ll come celebrate with us,” said Marlo Dykeman, YBBBS Donor Relations Director.
Following the “Call of the Disco Ball,” guests can share in the Saturday-Night-Fever-themed vibes, complete with music by Funk Frequency, a gourmet menu of ’70s food, and disco balls galore, as well as a dance floor, light-up bar, and much more.
The event returns to the ballroom of the Prescott Resort on November 12, with the evening kicking off at 6 p.m. Before dinner, guests will have plenty of time to browse the silent auction packages, participate in the Dueling Bartenders show, featuring Barry Barbe and Bob Kolar, and grab a raffle ticket for the diamond tennis bracelet donated by Raskin’s Jewelers.
Don’t forget to check out the hand-picked ’70s-themed band posters for sale, too!
The program after dinner will feature heartfelt stories of life-altering matches made by the agency, as well as a peek into the big future planned for workforce development for young adults.
“We have a lot to celebrate and to share, including plans to deepen and expand our services to young adults up to age twenty-four,” said Dykeman.
For guests looking to support the agency’s big future plans through bidding on unique and exclusive travel and adventure packages, the live auction after dinner is the place to be. Former Prescott Mayor Greg Mengarelli returns this year as the charismatic auctioneer!
Award-winning Prescott photographer Christopher Marchetti will be capturing the evening’s memories as well.
As the gala winds up around 9 p.m., the fun does not need to stop! Throw in a special after party and you and your friends can continue the celebration in downtown Prescott.
