The Prescott Pops Symphony’s 2019-2020 Season Begins July 9
Think dynamic. Think incredible variety. Maestro Joseph Place leads the Prescott Pops into its 27th season of stunning musical entertainment. There is no doubt about the excitement surrounding the musical selections for each of this season’s five concerts, including:
July 9: The season’s first concert focuses on all things thoroughly American including selections from Aaron Copland’s “Old American Songs,” and Hoagie Carmichael’s “An American Treasure,” which will envelop you in memories made and shared.
July 28: Darrell Rowader conducts the symphony and choir in a “Magical Tour of the Movies.” Expect a variety of music from an array of movies, including Bernstein’s “To Kill A Mockingbird Suite,” an MGM medley, and the music of Henry Mancini and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
September 15: “Pops People & Places” will deliver a surprising combination of music inspired by people and places in classical, film and program-related orchestral Pops music, including the strains of “Vienna, City of my Dreams,” “The Yellow Rose of Texas,” “Belle of New York,” and the sounds of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Symphony #2 London.”
December 8: A local musical custom, the Pops always delivers a holiday concert. This year, it’s “Holiday Dreams & Traditions,” an enchanting selection of the divine music we hold dear.
February 16, 2020: The season’s final concert, “Love & Laughter,” features a program of music from a variety of genres, providing the perfect backdrop for celebrating the romance of Valentine’s Day.
