This year’s Highland Games & Celtic Faire will take place at Watson Lake Park in Prescott and will feature a variety of events, shops, and food meant to entertain people of all ages (and educate them, too!).

Prescott is something special!  I had the opportunity to meet one of Prescott’s more famous locals, Toni Tennille, while consulting about fundraising strategies for a group working on the development of a professional philharmonic orchestra. Besides being ahh-struck by seeing the writer of the songs I would dance to in my living room as a young girl, I was put at ease from her relaxed and kind spirit.

According to “Business Insider,” the average adult watches 35 hours of television a week. That is the equivalent of another part-time job.  Many Americans are trying to reduce time spent watching the tube by organizing their house, spending more time with family or friends, getting exercise, listening to the radio, and/or reading books and magazines.

As part of its ongoing mission to create opportunities for the greater community to engage in and experience all facets of the arts, this summer the Prescott Center for the Arts (PCA) will offer the Teen Summer Stock Ensemble (TSSE), which provides people ages 15-22 the unique opportunity to experience what it’s like to work in a professional setting.

What’s coming up for Folk Sessions?

The Sean Goté Gallery in west Prescott has been open for about a year with artwork that grabs your attention and stimulates the senses filling every corner of the bright and open space.

The Phippen Museum’s 44th Annual Western Art Show & Sale will be held over Memorial weekend (May 26, 27 & 28, 2018) on the historic Yavapai County Courthouse Plaza in beautiful, downtown Prescott. This popular outdoor event attracts talented Western artists, art enthusiasts, Western devotees, local residents and visitors from far and wide. While the first Memorial Day Show & Sale was presented in 1974, this premier event still features some of the finest Western sculptors and painters from all across America. Here are just some of the other activities the Phippen Museum has scheduled on this special holiday weekend.
