Now in its fifth season, AZ Phil is dedicated to growing a professional quality orchestra that attracts musicians to the area.

“We’ve introduced 160 musicians to Prescott who had never played here before,” Henry said. “Our vision is to help musicians make their livelihood in northcentral Arizona. By paying professional wages and coordinating with other orchestras, AZ Phil helps musicians begin to build a local and viable income portfolio.”

‘Eat, Drink, and Be Merry’

Organizers of Prescott’s annual holiday attractions have added a new event for 2022. Inspired by a centuries-old European tradition, Prescott’s inagural Christmas Village & Christkindl Market will feature holiday gift items from more than 20 local vendors, German-style foods, a beer and mulled wine garden, a carousel, live Christmas music, visits with Santa, and horse-drawn carriage rides around the beautifully lit Courthouse Plaza. The event will be open Friday and Saturday, December 16 and 17 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, December 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on West Goodwin Street in downtown Prescott. Admission is free.

The Grand Gala Returns

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the staff of Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters (YBBBS) is excited to announce that Prescott’s premier event for the youth-serving organization is returning Saturday, November 12.

“The Annual Grand Gala is back! This event has been a staple in the community for several decades and as we honor our 50-year history and pay homage to our seventies roots, we hope you’ll come celebrate with us,” said Marlo Dykeman, YBBBS Donor Relations Director.

Following the “Call of the Disco Ball,” guests can share in the Saturday-Night-Fever-themed vibes, complete with music by Funk Frequency, a gourmet menu of ’70s food, and disco balls galore, as well as a dance floor, light-up bar, and much more.

Sponsor a Theater Seat and Leave a Legacy!

Suze’s Prescott Center for the Arts (SPCA) is both a historical landmark and an all-encompassing center for the arts in downtown Prescott. The 126-year-old former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which was gifted to the Center in 1969, houses SPCA, and the facilities have served the communities for 51 years.

The center has embarked on a new era of artistic adventures with the building of a new studio theater. Since SPCA is a community theater, the organization is relying on the support of donors and community members to help keep the arts thriving locally.

Dancing for the Stars!

It’s that time again! Dancing for the Stars is the Boys & Girls Clubs’ signature event and major fundraiser of the year and will take place September 9 (Opening Event) and 10 (Main Event/VIP Reception).

The event has grown to raise a significant portion of the organization’s annual budget, strengthening the Clubs’ operation. Dancing for the Stars consists of an exciting friendly competition in which local celebrities are paired with professional dancers to perform a wide variety of dances, in a fun and dazzling event. All proceeds stay local and directly benefit our community youth.

Our local Boys & Girls Clubs are steadfast in promoting greatness in youth and their families through inspirational leadership and transformational programs. Clubs’ after-school and summer programs focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles and good character and citizenship. Serving young people with tools and opportunities to help them develop and thrive, the Boys & Girls Clubs also serve the whole family by empowering parents to work outside the home and provide for their household.
