A nervous twitter ran through the sold-out crowd at the Western Heritage Center on Whiskey Row as the reenactor put her hand on her gun belt, held out an enameled pot, and sauntered forward. Playing the role of the notorious stagecoach robber, Brenda Kruegar, also known as “Wildcat Pearl Hart,” during the “5 Amazing Prescott Pioneer Women” event, she proceeded to politely request, “yer jewels, your coins, yer watches,” and folks in the audience (who were in on the stunt) dropped large, clanking, fake coins noisily into the pot.

The Real American Cowboy
The Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering will again take the stage at Yavapai College Performing Arts Center in Prescott on August 11-13. One of the area’s most popular annual events, this year’s gathering features more than 40 authentic cowboy poets and singers sharing the heritage and culture of the American cowboy for two days and three nights of entertainment.

Women: Crown Your Champions
The Prescott Frontier Days®, Inc. – World’s Oldest Rodeo® proudly promotes women’s competitive rodeo sports and awards equal prize money and buckles for champions in these events. Showcased events include barrel racing; a red-hot ballet featuring a cowgirl, her horse, three barrels, and a stopwatch; and breakaway roping, a lightning-fast display of roping skill and horsemanship.
The Best in the West

A Dazzling Event
This year’s Dancing for the Stars event raised more than $275,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona. As the organization’s major yearly fundraiser, it has grown to raise a significant portion of the non-profit’s annual budget and literally keeps the doors open for the Prescott and Prescott Valley Clubs.
